I had the best/worst dream last night. There was this really upscale kids & stationary store (weird mix, huh?) that was going out of business. I was there with my sister and we were getting these gorgeous baby girl outfits for $6 and cheaper. It was awesome. Until this guy came in and said they were closing early so I had to really rush through the stationary section, which made me so sad. I love good stationary in a big, huge way. The best mall I have ever stepped foot in is in King of Prussia, PA, and there is a beautiful Crane’s Paper store there. Anyway, when we were sitting in church today looking at the cute baby girls and the cute baby girl clothes I was remembering my shopping dream and it made me warm and fuzzy inside. When I was pregnant with Jacob, I was way on top of the baby shopping and nesting by this same point of that pregnancy. This time? I have done nothing. Not one thing. Which makes me extra thankful for the couple of cute baby girl things I’ve received as gifts because I’m obviously so not on that horse yet.

Oh, speaking of babies at church, that reminds me of a little experiment I did a few weeks ago. It seems like everyone in the ward is pregnant, but since it could just be that it seems that way to me since I’m pregnant, too (did you know that? it’s not like I don’t talk about it enough, huh?), I decided to count just two rows of women to see if I was right or in la la land (not unheard of these days). Verdict: 10 women in the 2 rows. 6 were pregnant, 1 has a newborn, and 2 are way past the stage at which to safely gestate. That leaves just 1 woman of child bearing age who was not currently pregnant or with a newborn. Crazy!

We got the announcement – finally – that our ward will be split next week. The best part of that announcement is that we won’t have to get to church 20 minutes early anymore just to get a seat on a bench (instead of the hard, cold metal chairs). The sad part of that is that the people that will be in the “other ward” are awesome. And you know how it is with church friends – it’s easy to stay in touch when you see each other once a week, but when you’re 1/2 a mile away and never “have” to run into each other once a week, it’s a lot harder to keep in touch, and schedule times to get together.

For the past long time I have been shunning all the “Mormon light” religious books – you know, anything you’d buy at the church bookstore. Just have not been in the mood. Not even a tad. This week I got this library book called Life in the Present Tense. It’s a collection of columns written by Rifka Rosenwien for The Jewish Week (I think newspaper?). I have loved it. And I think I might be getting a bit more in the mood to start picking up more religious/spiritual things sooner than later.
